Build and own the V&V environment for new software and firmware products with a defence client — sitting at the intersection of software, embedded systems and electronics.
The role
A defence client in Canterbury looking for a Validation and Verification Engineer to build and own a robust V&V environment for new software and firmware products. The role reports to the Electronics and Software Team Leader.
This sits deliberately at the intersection of software, embedded systems and electronics, working across cross-functional engineering teams to make sure products are properly tested, validated and production-ready. You'd develop and implement the V&V processes themselves, design and maintain test environments for new and modified code, and validate safety-critical functionality across systems.
There's a documentation and compliance dimension: recording testing, results and validation processes clearly, assisting with audits, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015. You'd also act as a technical reference point within the team and support internal and external stakeholders with troubleshooting.
The team works to Agile ceremonies — stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives — in a small, collaborative engineering environment. The role runs on a 9-day fortnight.
